How do I approve a project request?

It is possible to approve or reject a project request by using the Workflow button on the ribbon or via the Approve or Reject buttons on the ribbon within the View Form of the project request item. If the project request is approved, the project request will then be added to the Project Center and then additional fields may be completed in the Project Item form. If the project request is rejected, the project request will appear in the Project Request list under the Rejected category heading. This article covers approving a project request using the Approve button on the View Form and from the Workflow button.

1. Navigate to the Project Requests Center

  • Click the Requests link located in the Navigation Menu.

2. View the Project Requests List

  • View the Project Requests List.

2.1. View Item

  1. Click the ellipsis menu.
  2. Click the View Item option.

2.2. Click Approve

  • Click the Approve option.

Note: Whoever is set up as the "Approver", will then become the creator (owner) of the project item and thus would edit the item and enter the resource name(s) in the Project Manager field.

2.3. Click Start

  • Click Start.

2.4. View the Approval Status

  1. View the Approval Status.
  2. Click Close.

2.5. View the Project Request List

  • View the Project Request list. This approved project will now appear in the Projects list in the Proposed category.

3. Approve Project Request Using the Workflow Button

  1. Select the project request item.
  2. Click the Workflow button.

3.1. Click Approve

  • Click Approve. If the project request is approved, the project request will then be added to the Project Center and then additional fields may be completed in the Project Item form. If the project request is rejected, the project request will appear in the Project Request list under the Rejected category heading.

3.2. Click Start

  • Click Start.

3.3. View the Approved Project Request

  • View the Approved Project Request.
