What are the standard Resource Pool fields?

Before adding resources to the Resource Pool, review the list of attributes to determine if there need to be additional fields for metadata about the resources. The default out-of-box Resource Pool contains the following fields, which have important functionality throughout EPM Live:

Generic Check box - Whether this field is checked or unchecked, the remaining fields in the Resource Form change.

  • When checked, the resource is a generic role, generally used for non-user specific resource planning. These can be organizational roles and project materials that need to be captured for planning purposes, for example: Manager, Business Analyst, etc.
  • When unchecked, the resource is a named user.

When Generic is checked, the following fields show for your generic resource:

  1. Display name - The name of the generic resource.
  2. Standard Rate - The resource's standard rate in currency ($). If role rates are entered on the Calendars page, this field will be populated with the role rate. If Named Rates are used from the Rates Table, this field will be populated with this resource's named rate.
  3. Department - The resource's department. The choices available can be modified via the Departments List Page.
  4. Role - The resource's role. The choices available can be modified via the Roles List Page.
  5. Holiday Schedule - The resource's holiday schedule, which is referenced with regards to resource availability.
  6. Work Hours - The resource's work hours, which is referenced with regards to resource availability.
  7. Available From - The date the resource was or will be available to start working. The resource will show as unavailable prior to this date in the resource planning and management tools.
  8. Available To - The date the resource will no longer be available, with regards to resource planning and management tools. The resource will show as unavailable after this date.

When Generic is unchecked, the following fields show for your named user resource:

  1. First Name - The resource's first name.
  2. Last Name - The resource's last name.
  3. Email - A valid email address for users to receive their login information and system generated email notifications and alerts.
  4. License Type - The resource's license type within EPM Live. The license type selected will determine the features available to this resource.
  5. Permissions - The resources' security group for the Site App (top site collection level). If more than one option is selected, the default will be the highest security group.
  6. Standard Rate - The resource's standard rate in currency ($).
  7. Department - The resource's department. The choices available can be modified via the Departments List Page.
  8. Role - The resource's role. The choices available can be modified via the Roles List Page.
  9. Holiday Schedule - The resource's holiday schedule, which is referenced with regards to resource availability.
  10. Work Hours - The resource's work hours, which is referenced with regards to resource availability.
  11. Available From - The date the resource was or will be available to start working. The resource will show as unavailable prior to this date in the resource planning and management tools.
  12. Available To - The date the resource will no longer be available, with regards to resource planning and management tools. The resource will show as unavailable after this date.
  13. Disabled check box - When checked, all permissions will be removed from the entire Site App (sites, lists, projects, etc.)

If the Timesheets App has been added to the Site App, the following Timesheet fields are added to the Resource Form for named user resources:

  1. Timesheet Administrator - This is a Yes/No check box to indicate whether or not the resource is a timesheet administrator. When this attribute is selected for a resource, that resource will now be able to view all data related to the Timesheets and run the Timesheet reports, regardless of that user's permissions within the Site App.
  2. Timesheet Delegates - The resource's timesheet delegates. This field can contain one or more resources that will act as delegates for filling out timesheets on the resource's behalf.
  3. Timesheet Manager -The resource's timesheet manager.
