How do I save a Project Planner template?

Once a project schedule has been created, it is possible to save the schedule for future use in the Project Planner as a template. This lesson covers saving a Project Planner template and launching a new template in the Project Planner.

1. Create a Schedule in the Project Planner

  • Create a project schedule in the Project Planner.

2. Click the Project Tab

  • Click the Project tab.

3. Click Save as Template

  • Click the "Save as Template" button.

4. Enter the Template Information

  1. Enter the name of the template.
  2. Enter the template description.

5. Click OK

  • Click OK.

6. Click OK

  • Click OK.

7. Click Close

  • Click Close.

8. Access the New Template

  1. Check the box to the left of the project name in the Project Center.
  2. Click Edit Plan.

9. Click the Project Planner Box

  • Click the Project Planner box.

10. Select the Template

  • Click the new template.

11. View the Applied Template

  1. View the selected template and make desired changes.
  2. Click Save.
  3. Click Publish.
