To move or copy one or more documents in a library to another location, open the desired folder in EPM Live and move documents as needed using Open with Explorer command. Using the Open with Explorer command option is a basic functionality of SharePoint document libraries and not EPM Live specific. This article discusses how to use the Open with Explorer command in EPM Live to view, copy, and move files in a documents library.
1. Log into EPM Live Using Internet Explorer
- Enter your username and password.
- Check the "Sign me in automatically" box.
- Click Sign In.
2. Navigate to Documents Library
Navigate to the EPM Live documents library containing the files you want to copy or move.
3. Open with Explorer
Click the Library tab on the ribbon, and then click the Open with Explorer icon.
In the Windows Explorer window, select the files you want to move or copy. To select multiple contiguous files, press and hold the SHIFT key, and then drag the mouse pointer across the set of files you want. To select multiple discontinuous files, press and hold the CTRL key, and then click the files you want.
- To Move: Right-click one of the selected files, and then click Cut on the shortcut menu.
- To Copy: Right-click one of the selected files, and then click Copy on the shortcut menu.
Navigate to the destination site and library where you want to move or copy the files.
Right-click in a blank area, and then click Paste using the shortcut menu.
Close the Windows Explorer window and refresh your browser window (Press F5) to see the files in the library.
Note: If you are moving or copying files to a library that requires files to be checked out, the files are initially checked out to you. You need to check the files in before other people can edit them.
