How do I add a milestone in the Project Planner?

This lessons covers entering a milestone in the Project Planner. A milestone is a "zero duration" task and is used to mark the end of a series of tasks, or a key event within the project schedule. Resources should not be assigned to milestone tasks.

1. Click Milestone

  1. Select the row in the Project Planner where the new milestone task should be created.
  2. Click Milestone on the Tasks tab (Ribbon menu).

2. Enter the Milestone Name

  • Enter a name (e.g. Prelim Complete) for the new milestone.

3. Click Save

  • Click Save.
